County Employee Election Workers

To serve as an Election Worker you must be registered to vote Colorado, and not convicted of any election related offense.  You do not have to be registered in Adams County to work for us.  Family members of candidates appearing on the ballot may not serve as election workers.

Election Day ONLY Positions
Primary Election: Tuesday, June 30, 2020
General Election: Tuesday, November 3, 2020
VSPC Ambassador
(typically management/executive level position)

  • Assigned to a Voter Service and Polling Center located around Adams County
  • De-escalation and problem solving skills
  • Ability to identify issues and contact the appropriate person
  • Ability to handle difficult customers
  • Assist with line management
  • Collect mail ballots from voters waiting in line
24-Hour Ballot Box Closing Team
  • Available at 5pm for on the job training
  • Work in bi-partisan teams
  • Close 24-hour boxes at 7pm
  • Pick up mail ballots from the 24-hour Ballot Drop Boxes
  • Valid driver license required
MAIL BALLOT RECEIVING - WAREHOUSE
(No computer skills required)

  • Receive mail ballots that were picked up by the Ballot Security Team and from the post office
  • Verify seals, open ballot transport bags, sort ballots into mail trays
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
  • Heavy turning/twisting movements
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination
  • Basic math and organizational skills
  • Heavy repetitive hand wrist and arm motions
BALLOT PREP (PREVIOUSLY CALLED BALLOT REMOVAL)
(No Computer skills required)

  • Physical separation of mail ballot packets
  • Ability to focus with attention to detail
  • May be assigned to adjudication, duplication or auditing
  • Basic math and organizational skills
  • Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
  • Sitting for long periods of time
2-Day Positions
Primary Election: Mon-Tue, June 29-30, 2020
General Election: Mon-Tue, November 2-3, 2020
MAIL BALLOT RECEIVING - WAREHOUSE
(No computer skills required)

  • Receive mail ballots that were picked up by the Ballot Security Team and from the post office
  • Verify seals, open ballot transport bags, sort ballots into mail trays
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
  • Heavy turning/twisting movements
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination
  • Basic math and organizational skills
  • Heavy repetitive hand wrist and arm motions
BALLOT PREP (PREVIOUSLY CALLED BALLOT REMOVAL)
(No Computer skills required)

  • Physical separation of mail ballot packets
  • Ability to focus with attention to detail
  • May be assigned to adjudication, duplication or auditing
  • Basic math and organizational skills
  • Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
  • Sitting for long periods of time
VSPC SUPERVISOR
(Computer Skill Level 3 – Computer literacy test required if new)

  • Leadership qualities
  • Oversees all aspects of the VSPC set-up, processes and takedown
  • Assists with Election Watchers and any other VSPC guests
  • Fills in for other positions during breaks and lunches
  • Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
  • Attend a Supervisor class, Computer class, and a Simulation training
VSPC TROUBLESHOOTER
(Computer Skill Level 3 – Computer literacy test required if new)

  • Assists the Supervisor with the VSPC set-up and takedown
  • Oversees the use of ballot marking device machines
  • Oversees the VSPC in the absence of the Supervisor
  • Fills in for other positions during breaks and lunches
  • Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
  • Attend a Troubleshooter class, Computer class, and a Simulation training
VSPC COMPUTER PROCESSER
(Computer Skill Level 3 – Computer literacy test required if new)

  • Assists voters with voter registration, updating existing registration, giving vote credit, and replacing a voter’s mail ballot via a computer
  • Strong computer skills, accurate data entry and attention to detail
  • Responsible for ballot inventory and daily balancing
  • Confirm correct ballot type and mark the Statement of Ballots
  • Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
  • Attend a Computer class and a Simulation training class
VSPC GREETER
(No Computer Siklls Required)

  • Must be pleasant, personable, and professional
  • Must quickly assess the voter’s needs
  • Provides appropriate forms
  • Guides voters to next steps in the voting process
  • Responsible for maintaining ballot box chain of custody
  • Distributes “I Voted” stickers
  • Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
  • Attend a Greeter training class and a Simulation training class
VSPC EXIT WORKER
(No Computer Skills Required)

  • Must be pleasant, personable, and professional
  • Must quickly assess the voter’s needs
  • Oversees voters dropping In-Person ballots into the ballot box
  • Responsible for maintaining ballot box chain of custody
  • Distributes “I Voted” stickers
  • Able to work 14+ hours Election Day
  • Attend an Exit Worker training class and a Simulation training class
