Qualifications to Register to Vote
In order to register to vote in Adams County, you must be:

  • 18 years of age or older at the time of the next election
  • A United States Citizen
  • Living in Colorado for 22 days immediately before the election in which you intend to vote
  • Not serving a sentence of confinement, detention, or parole for a felony.
Register to Vote Online

Colorado law allows you to register to vote through Election Day.  But please note that how you register to vote matters.

  • If you register to vote by mail or online through  govotecolorado.com , you must register at least eight (8) days before an election conducted by your county clerk and recorder. The clerk will automatically mail you a ballot.
  • If you register after the 8th day before an election conducted by your county clerk and recorder, you must visit one of the Voter Service and Polling Centers in your county to get a ballot.
  • If you register to vote through a voter registration drive, your application must be submitted no later than 22 days before an election.
  • You may register to vote by appearing in-person at a Voter Service and Polling Center through Election Day.
Register to Vote by Paper Form
  • Voters who do not have a valid Colorado driver’s license or ID card, or who prefer to register by paper, can print and complete a paper Voter Registration Form.
    • Paper Voter Registration Forms can be returned to the Adams County Election Division in-person, by mail, email or fax with photocopy of an acceptable Form of Identification. To view acceptable forms of identification click here.

Register as a Military/Overseas Citizen (UOCAVA Voter)
  • Military and overseas electors may register to vote and apply for a ballot or update their voter registration by completing and submitting a Federal Post Card Application.

  • You may also complete and submit your Federal Post Card Application or update your voter registration electronically by using any of the following links:
  • The last day to register to vote, as a UOCAVA Voter in an election, is 29 days prior to the date of the election.
  • A ballot application must be received no later than the 7th day before the election if the voter wants to receive the ballot by mail.
  • An application for a fax or email ballot must be received by 5 P.M. Mountain Time on the Friday before Election Day (November 4th) .
  • A ballot application, including FPCA, from a military or overseas elector is valid through the next General Election, unless the elector indicates otherwise.
